A year ago, the small plot of land behind the Black Rock Library was a forgettable little spot, but the members of the Black Rock Garden Club saw its potential. Today, it’s a beautiful and colorful courtyard, suited for relaxation, meditation, and mainly for reading.
My favorite was the Shakespeare Garden, which featured plants mentioned or alluded to in the Bard’s great works. Benches, chairs and a bamboo fence to cover the chain links were also installed, all at great cost and effort. Let’s hope the garden thrives for many years to come!
