The Art Trail served to introduce a lot of us as an introduction to the new Nest, seen here on Tumblr.
The new location is awesome. Just like before, it’s in a factory building, a slightly tidier space than it had before on Hancock. But it still enjoys the same expansive space, on the third floor, with lots of light and air and suitable for large-scale installations. Art sometimes just can’t breathe in under a 10- or 12-foot ceiling.
I got to try my hand at one of Peter Konsterlie’s bailiwick, sand sculptures. The plaster should have hardened by now and I’ll see my (probably laughable) result today. I’m hoping that the music from the Cosmic Jibaros, drifting in from across the building, combined in my head with my cold medicine to inspire something really amazing. We’ll find out. (Update: My sand art rocks! If I do say so myself.)
