Now, an exhibition of original drawings by artist/members of the Stamford Loft Artists Association examines the beauty and history of Stamford. Although today’s Stamford is more known for its office high rises and downtown mall, there is still much history and natural beauty to draw from.
The exhibition pays homage to Mr. Bailey, an accomplished artist who illustrated the Stamford Advocate each Saturday with distinctive, whimsical, and lively local sketches, from 1924 through 1954. See more of his sketches, from the Stamford Historical Society, here.
An opening reception is 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 13.
Also, a drawing workshop and lecture on Whitman Bailey is 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
