The AbFab has been my Nest/Remington/Starpin replacement. Those were old factories that had gone all artist-lofty, until plans for condos were drawn up. By the way, none of those former loft-factory buildings ever became condos. The AbFab building is sort of like the Innovation Center, which it’s near. While not residential like the Read’s lofts, AbFab has scores of working studios, all in a huge complex where machine-made lace used to be made.
The event showcases at least 27 artists in their studios. Last year the event attracted more than 500 visitors. There will be even more this year when word gets out that Epernay Bistro and Two Boots pizza will be serving food.
