At long last, I’m finally the No. 1 “Lee Steele” on the Google search engine, finally overtaking that footballer from Liverpool, the airline exec, the actor from “Marathon Man” and the biotech guy from Boston of the same name.
Take that, Lee Steele!
That’s also me at No. 6, somehow, with a strange link that aggregates all my mentions of the Connecticut Post on this blog. And my regional Society for News Design blog, which contains news design content also posted on this one, is at No. 7. Still missing is “In the Gallery,” my fairly new ctpost.com blog, which is also spun off from this one.
You’ll have to excuse me if I feel a bit of a rivaly with the other Lee Steeles of the world. It was a Lee Steele who beat me to the AOL address in the mid-1990s, and another one who beat me claiming that name for a gmail address, forcing me to make up other monikers on those systems, and altogether discouraging me from using them at all. That was one reason I grabbed my URL and other social networking site names as soon as I thought of doing so, at one point hovering over my computer at midnight when one particular name-grab was declared.
Back when everything was all about MySpace, I was forced to make my homepage myspace/leestudio. Never again! And I abandoned that page two years ago.
You just gotta keep an eye on those other Lee Steeles.
