As the regional director for the Society for News Design for a year now, I’m finally organizing a meetup.
Because some of by strongest support has been coming from Boston, that’s the city in our region I chose to get my feet wet. Dan Zedek of the Globe is providing essential support. Otherwise, I’m in a city I don’t know very well hosting a party for veritable strangers.
I’ve tried desperately, maybe too desperately, to put in interesting spin on the meetup. But I have no idea really how persuasive I’m being, or who’s going to want to hang with us on a Monday night in the South End.
Then today, Charles Apple — a D.C.-based news design guru — helped me out a bit and publicized it on his blog. He did such a superior job of thinking about all the details, such as parking and transportation options, that I’m just going to link to that page rather than go into it here.
My co-host is Dan Zedek of the Globe, which puts me in pretty good company.
