August is no time for summer vacation at the Silvermine Guild. Good thing, too, because this beautiful campus appears made for summer.
Their late-summer plans have been announced: One measure of good art is the extent to which it engages the viewer into dialogue. An upcoming Silvermine Guild show will emphasize this quality. It is juried by Liza Statton, Interim Director, Artspace, New Haven and Jeffrey Mueller, Gallery Director, Silvermine Guild Arts Center.
Another exhibit in August is Director’s Choice: Kirill Doron, showcasing the artist’s still life paintings that are of simple objects demonstrating his connection with trompe-l’oeil, the realistic eye-trickery technique that dates back to the Renaissance that gives the illusion of a real window, bookshelf, climbing ivy or anything that would be reasonably positioned on a wall.
August Exhibits are open from Aug. 8 through Sept. 17, Wednesday – Saturday: noon – 5 p.m.; Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
