Another copy of that piece, which I now learn is called “In the Year 2525,” is part of Savard’s exhibit which is up all month at the Discovery Museum. The show is called “From Bridgeport to Barcelona” and depicts both urban and natural settings in a new light.
Savard refers to his work as Photo Impressionism, using alternative photographic processes and hand-coloring using incredible, vibrant hues.
“Photography for many is wrapped up in sharpness and pixels,” reads the official publicity for the show. “This certainly has its place, but Tom is not at all concerned with this aspect. Tom is much more in tune with form and value, often increasing the grain within the image to meet his desired results.”
The show, comprised of 15 works, is on the balcony space over the lobby until June 30.
