Fans of TV’s David Dunlop, and admirers of the Silvermine‘s contribution to artistic expression, might want to consider a summer getaway to Florence, Italy, that the painter and the school are hosting.
Travelers will stay at a country estate house located in the heart of the Chianti wine-growing area, just 20 minutes outside of Florence. The Renaissance villa, called Villa Il Poggiale, has been entirely renovated and everyone gets a private bath, air conditioning, mini-bar, phone, satellite TV, wi-fi Internet … hey, is this really how the Italian countryside rolls these days?
Scheduled for Monday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 22, this excursion costs $3,500.
Artist, lecturer and teacher David Dunlop is the host and Emmy Award-winning writer of the 13-episode PBS television series Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop.
“David will be starting painting days with a demonstration and will be there to work with you as you create,” says the invitation. “He will also lead photo walks so that you can go home with a treasure-trove of images to work from.Several days we will travel the short distance into Florence to visit its famous museums and art sites with David as your guide.
