A small followup on the confusion the New York Times caused with its liberalized boundaries for St. Mary’s.
I remember a year ago, a magazine for Acela rail riders profiled Bridgeport’s culinary scene, making our city seem like a Shangri-La for foodies. The lesson here for any reader of travel magazines is to beware any profile that uses only close-up photos. I agree that food is a strong point in Bridgeport, but a visitor lured here from the article might be expecting some sort of festive resort atmosphere.
The howler was toward the end when the writer referred our neighborhood as St. Ann’s, thinking of course of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, and its school, on Brewster Street. I subtly marked the error on the last spread.
