I love this piece in the new Fairfield Weekly. Eileen Walsh’s efforts in the art scene is paying off.
The writer takes notice of the “fierce gleam in her eyes.” You know it!
The Gallery at Black Rock, Eileen’s labor of love for the past 15 months, filled in the vacuum created with NEST folded, and the Star Pin Galleries went condo, and the Remington Factory tenants were routed, and when the Black Rock Art Center went kaput. The story alludes to some of these connections.
The Art Center is particularly apt because you can see the empty building that used to house that organization from the front window of Eileen’s gallery. If only she had THAT space. Imagine what she’d do with it!
