I’m on Fairfield Avenue in downtown Bridgeport. Yes, it really is the epicenter of cool. Honestly. If you’ve been here, you know what I mean.
Because there I was, facebooking my coffee break at the coffee bar on my blackberry, earpods stuck in my head, and coffee cooling quickly in a sippy cup. And now I am so blogging this on WordPress. OMG. LOL! I feel totally sorry for my unborn children, not having such a hip father. I wonder if my Sears seude jacket (not in picture) looked ironic?
Anyway, progress at the Bijou Square is still at a snail’s pace, but it seems every time I go there SOMETHING is new. Today a cherry picker was stationed in front of what will be the art house movie theater, and workers were looking after the facade, which was restored to its turn-of-the-century glory. Two Boots was packing ’em in. The ladies who lunch with giant glasses of red wine were in the window at Epernay. Even though the condo project at the corner still seems stalled, today’s interlude at the Las Vetas patio gave me hope.
