I’m reposting this from last year because (1) it’s a holiday weekend and (2) I really like these photos.
Saveur Magazine recently published an article that was close to my heart.
I grew up just outside Atlantic City in the 1970s. You could see the skyline from our front yard. Now, the food magazine has an article about the local restaurants, and it was illustrated with photos that made me look at those days in an entirely new, and newly nostalic, way. The photos are by Charlie Baum, whose work is on his own Web site.
By the way, even people who say they hate Atlantic City have to admit that the food there is great. And with its weird juxtapositions and surreal atmosphere, AC has always provided fertile ground for a writer or photo journalist.
